Chapter Philanthropy & Service
Hello! My name is Kalee Nielsen, I am the Philanthropy Coordinator for the Zeta chapter! I think that by serving our communities, and giving back to the world around us, we can learn a great deal about ourselves. I love having the opportunity to plan events and raise money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which supports Diabetes research, education, and awareness. Each year we host two large events. In Fall: Pajamas and Pancakes, a breakfast open to the entire community; and in Spring: Strike Out Diabetes, a softball tournament that we have hosted annually for two years. Last year, we raised over $1,000 for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, an accomplishment that we are very proud of at the Zeta chapter. In addition to our philanthropic efforts, we love to work together to help out our community, too. We have collaborated with organizations such as Campus Recycling, to make Ohio U a more Eco-friendly place and worked with the Greek community during Athens Beautification day. Individually, Zeta sisters have volunteered countless hours of their time at the humane society, nursing homes, soup kitchens, battered-women's shelters, among others.
